Well- it all started with one song: "Another Brick in the Wall" - I was that young punk who would call the radio station and request the song a million times a day until it was played. After that, I decided that I wanted to be that person on the other side of the phone who was fielding the calls. It took many years to achieve that goal, and believe it or not, never listened to country until I bartended at this little club called Hoo-Ha’s, and then the fun really began, and the country took hold.
Then after that, back in '97, I got the chance on some little college station called Z-89 in Syracuse.- I was offered Saturday-days-prime time! Then came the infamous "incident" and that was all it took- I graduated to the big leagues- overnights on B104.7 in Syracuse. That is where I was up until July of 2004. I decided that I needed to come back home to Rochester and bask in the glow of the warmer sun here rather than Syracuse. That is my radio career in a nutshell, as well as a few oddball stations along the way.
During the week, I support myself by selling my blood to the Red Cross ( just kidding!) I am a master GM tech as well as a caretaker for my 2 varmints ( I have 2 VERY long haired cats that keep me busy vacuuming) I am an avid boater, as well as an adrenaline junkie, I have skydived, bungee jumped and bridge jumped. If it goes fast enough to make most stomachs twist, it is for me! I live for NASCAR during the season and tend to frequent the DIRT tracks in the area. But, I do have a tender side as well. I have 2 nieces and a nephew that I tend to spend time with and the best part: I get to give them back at the end of the day!!
But seriously, I am a huge fan of country music. Among the favorite memories of people I have met are: Mark Chesnutt, Reba, Martina, Trace Adkins, Mark Wills, Diamond Rio and I cannot forget Chely Wright- I still fall asleep looking at the picture of the two of us-VAVOOM! Yet, I still listen to all of the 80's hairbands- cheesy as it may sound, it makes me think back to a time when I had a mullet, yet alone still having some hair. Oh by the way- I can be classified as a suburban cowboy- I do drive a full size pickup truck and love to ride motorcycles.
And that is me in a nutshell!
